InstaFriday: It’s back!!!

Now that boutique season & the holidays are done, I’m looking forward to getting back to a more normal blogging schedule. That includes linking up with Jeannett at Life Rearranged for InstaFriday again! Woo~hoo!

.

It’s been a pretty interesting week, starting with a certain almost 2 year old- who shall remain nameless- putting my iphone into a cup of coffee. Because it wanted to go for a swim, obviously. Not exactly what I was looking to buy right after Christmas…

.

After Christmas, I got to go see Les Mis with my family and LOVED it! I have been a big fan of the show my entire life and have seen it on stage numerous times and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was. Some performances, not so much, but overall, it was really incredible.

.

When we came home from Christmas with my family, we had the terrifying experience of having one of our trackless shower doors shatter on us. I was showering and my husband was opening the door to hand me my soap I had left on the counter. Without warning, I popped out and shattered. So scary! We got minor cuts, nothing serious thankfully. I am just SO thankful that neither of our boys were right there. Hudson usually plays right next to the shower while I am in there, so it definitely freaked me out a bit.

.

Our washing machine broke last week too. We are wearing some interesting outfits at this point while we wait for our new one…

.

Christmastime with Isaiah was so fun this year! He remembered traditions from the year before and was so excited to do them again this year. He got the real reason for Christmas. He was super into doing crafts and baking with me. His room was dreamy with colored lights and a mini tree on his bookshelf. Of all the Christmas decorations we had to pack away this week, I think the ones from his room were the saddest to say goodbye to.

.

My boys got SO many fun books for Christmas. We have loved reading them this week.

.

One of my husband’s favorite Christmas gifts is a Carrom board. Yes we are back in the 50′s in our house. We’ve had so much fun playing with it!

.

My boys got colds to ring in the New Year. The never-ending kind. It has been a week and they are still not much better. So we had a mellow New Years Eve at home. I did bake a pretty good apple pie to celebrate :)

You can’t see much of it, but it’s in the cutest pie pan ever, which was a Christmas gift from my hubby (from Anthropologie)

.

Before Isaiah got super sick, Daveed took him out to practice some baseball with his new tee that he got for Christmas. I cannot believe he starts tee ball soon!

.

By day 5 of occupying two sick boys stuck at home, I needed to pull out the big guns. Thanks to their great grandma, we got to do this:

Putting that together on my own while two boys kept trying to play with it was my first major accomplishment of 2013 :)

.

One of my goals for 2013 is to read 12 books. Now, I know that this doesn’t sound like much to my reader friends, but for me, it’s a good goal. I think I read 2 last year. I’m starting by finishing this book, which I started a year and a half ago. It’s amazing- I highly recommend it!

.

For Christmas, my amazing husband gave me 50 dates in 2013. This is SO huge! We did not get to go on many dates last year, so I am SO excited about this! He’s going to plan them- which is pretty awesome since I am the planner of the family. Some will be at home dates, given our life stage (as much as I love her, I’m not paying my babysitter 5o times), and I think it will be so great for our marriage to have more strategically planned time together. We had our first date at one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego, Bo Beau, and it was wonderful.

I am so thankful that I get to share life with this man.

.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
